Baptism (Gathering)

At The Point, it is our mission to make disciples, as Jesus Christ told us to do.

Matthew 28:19  "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

Because our mission is to go and make disciples, we believe that the next (and truly first) step in becoming a disciple is to be baptized, once a person has been saved from the eternal torment of hell.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is really the first step of obedience for a believer in Christ. It is publically professing and showing that you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, and that you have made him the ruler of your life, as 1 Corinthians 6:20 tell us to do.

1 Corinthians 6:20 “for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

People often have many questions in regards to baptism: Why should I be baptized? Does it matter if I was sprinkled or dunked? If I was baptized when I was younger, do I need to do it again?

It is because of the many questions, and wide variety of questions surrounding baptism, that we require anyone interested to attend a meeting prior to getting baptized. This class allows our leadership team to get to know you on a personal level, and answer any questions you may have regarding baptism. We will explain the purpose behind baptism, the motive, who should and should not get baptized, and also explain the day-of process and how baptism will work.

If you are interested in getting baptized, please sign up for our next baptism class, or email Bryan Haley for more information.
